The Basilisk

I know this isn’t a basilisk but when I first moved here I swear thats what my wife said it was called.  This is actually the Basilica of the National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton.  Italian and German artisans designed the interior and it was dedicated in 1965, and was designated a Minor Basilica by Pope John Paul II in 1991. The remains of Mother Seton, the first citizen born in the United States to be Canonized, are entombed under the Altar of Relics in the Basilica.  This shot was taken from South Seton Ave and I have been waiting for a clear day to get this shot.  Got it today!  August 17, 2011
